Poplar is a medium-density wood with color variations of white, green, brown, purple and black. Poplar is sorted for stability, and visible parts will generally be free from knots. Poplar is not sorted to be consistent in color. Poplar is sold as a paint-grade product; however, it may take some stains consistently. Natural poplar will darken to a brown tint with age.
