Young Furniture cabinetry is manufactured using Face Frame construction. Face frames allow doors to be hung on the cabinet in multiple ways. Young Furniture offers three styles; Standard Overlay, Full Overlay, Flush Inset. Chosing the right overlay is just as important as chosing a door style.
Standard Overlay is a traditional look where doors will only cover the face frame by 1/2” thus, leaving more of the face frame exposed.
Standard Overlay style cabinets are available with all door styles and wood species.
Standard Overlay style doors may be hinged with either a 1/2" overlay concealed hinge or a 1/2" overlay semi-concealed knife hinge.
Full Overlay is a modern look where doors will cover almost the entire face frame leaving tighter reveals between each door and each cabinet.
Full Overlay style cabinets are available with most door styles and all wood species.
Full Overlay style doors are hinged with 1 5/16" overlay concealed hinges.
Flush Inset is a classic high end look where each door and drawer front is fit inside each face frame opening. Insets are hand fit to have 1/8” reveals all around. Inset doors are available with decorative finial hinges or with concealed European hinges.
Flush Inset style cabinets are available in most door styles and in maple only.
Flush Inset style doors are hinged with either a decorative finial hinge or a concealed hinge.
Decorative finial hinges are available in a number of finishes including but, not limited to: Antique Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel and Wrought Iron.
